Losing weight~ My diet tips

Hello~

Just like the title says, I've been trying to lose weight for the past few years months, and for the first time, it's I actually lost some weight last month/this month! :D

Quick summary: I used to weigh around 50 kg until freshman year of high school, when I gained weight to 54 kg, and then this past year (I'm a senior) I went to my all time high of 58 kg. o_o I'm not even tall, so 58 kg is very uncomfortable for me.. I couldn't fit into any of my pants so I wore leggings most of the time. T^T

I never could lose the weight, until I finally found a "diet" and lifestyle change that worked for me. I have a few tricks that I believe helped me lose some fat.

1) Yogurt and bananas.

Voila! My two secret weapons muahaha

But yup. Just incorporating those two foods into my diet actually helped me to lose weight. I ate this as a snack and whenever I felt hungry. They are actually very filling, and the good bacteria in the yogurt supposedly help your body lose weight.
I lost 2 kg in just under a week by changing my diet and eating those two foods above.

2) Wheat-free (but not carb-free)

Mmmmm doesn't that look yummy? I ate A LOT of stuff like this and lost weight~

Normally for dinner I would have pasta, pizza, breads, rice, etc. Mainly super high-carb and high-calorie foods. Once I eliminated all forms of wheat and most carbs (I still ate carbs, like in fruits) I lost weight, because all I was eating was protein and vegetables. Yum. I ate as much as I wanted to, and ended up eating way less calories and losing weight.

Right now, I am around 56 kg still, because I have been all over the place these past few weeks. I lose/gain weight quickly. For example, early last week, I was 53 kg, but after two weekends of eating whatever I wanted, I went back to 56 kg. Of course I'm pretty bummed, but starting tomorrow, I'm going to eliminate junk foods/wheat products again, and hopefully I'll go back to 53 kg. My ultimate goal is 50 kg by the time I graduate, so I won't cringe every time I look back at graduation pictures.

Anyways, if you haven't already and you're having a hard time losing weight like I did, I suggest that you experiment more with your diet, because food intake is very crucial to weight loss. Exercise helps, but your diet is very important as well.

My typical diet:

Breakfast- banana
Lunch- granola bar
Dinner- a TON of meat and veggies
Snacks- yogurt and a banana

I don't normally eat breakfast or lunch because my stomach hurts if I eat a lot in the morning, and I fall asleep during class if I eat a filling lunch.. T^T Besides, I get hungry near the afternoon anyways.

If I felt like I ate too much, I usually try to learn a dance. Dancing motivates me to lose weight even more, because dancing with huge, heavy thighs like me is very uncomfortable and inconvenient in my opinion.. T_T I learned EXO's Growl though.. so fun. ^o^ I'm gonna go practice now, cause I just ate like 1000 calories past 9pm..... I was hungry. ._.

Mint Sorbet and Teddy Girl Swatch and Review

Hello~

Spring means pastels~ and lots of pollen.. I love pastel colors, so today I have a very simple pastel NOTD.
Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet is my favorite mint polish, and butter London Teddy Girl is slowly becoming my favorite pastel pink polish... Swatches and quick reviews coming up!

I used two coats for each polish. Natural light.

Artificial light.

Yummy.. Who else likes castella?

Sorry I forgot bottle shots, but Mint Sorbet is from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line. Teddy Girl is from, well, butter London.

Mint Sorbet: This is your very basic mint creme polish. I love the color and the formula. It's smooth, non-streaky, and opaque in two coats. Since this is from Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line, the brushes are nice to work with, at least for me. Plus the brush is very long, which I feel gives much more control when painting. I highly recommend this polish! It's such a pretty mint color~

Teddy Girl: For a creme pastel pink polish, the formula is pretty good. I've had much worse. T_T Teddy Girl is opaque in two coats, and is slightly streaky the first coat but it's fine because the second coat evens everything out. Of course, butter London polishes are always very nice~ The brushes are smaller, like Essie brushes, which I feel are good for their formulas. This may be slightly runny, but for a pastel pink, you can't get much better. :P

If I could, I would wear pastel colors everyday.. I'm still looking for a pastel yellow that doesn't stain my nails!! T^T

Oh by the way, I officially committed to my future university today. It feels sort of weird knowing that I'll be somewhere else for the next four years. I committed too late to find a roommate among my friends, so I just did the random roommate. Hopefully my future roommate is nice and doesn't smoke or bring people over! Because I like peace and quiet when I study... My friend told me to either choose two of the following: a social life, good grades, or sleep. I think I'll choose good grades and sleep.... T_T I mean, pshhh... a social life.....? ToT I'm afraid I won't have time to do any nail art... Maybe just simple solid colors... wahh.... first world problems.

Prom 2014~

Hello~

Wow I can't believe it's already almost the end of April!! The May 1st deadline is coming up for colleges... T_T

Anyways, I went to our school's prom for the first (and probably last) time this year! I went to homecoming in the fall, so I had a basic idea of how school dances would be like. I have to say that I preferred prom over homecoming though. Plus, going to prom was also one of the things in my bucket list, so I was glad I could finally check something off of that list!

To me at least, I was looking forward more to the food than the actual dance... shhh... hehehe..

The desserts were so cute! They were all together in the rack above, and they were sooo good...

Mango cheesecake~ <3

Girls: bring a pair of flats! I regret not bringing an extra pair of shoes... T^T

We got there a tiny bit early.... so there was nobody on the dance floor. It was nice, though, cause we got to explore the place while it was still empty~

This was during the middle of it, but man, lots of people! Less than the amount at homecoming though..

All of my friends got together at somebody's house in the afternoon for pictures, and we got a LOT of pictures taken. I'm not really used to taking pictures, nor am I photogenic, so I look awkward in most of the pics. It was a nice experience though; who knows when I'll get my picture taken again?

After the pictures, we drove to the restaurant, ate delicious food, then drove to the prom site. I ate even more food there. hehe.. they had bread, cupcakes, and pudding! and iced tea and lemonade mmm~

The only complaint was the music I guess. Most of the songs were similar in style, and in my opinion, hard to dance to... In the end, they even repeated the same songs over and over again.. T^T

Overall, prom was a nice experience. I got tired at around 10pm, but my friends were still energetic even when it ended at 12am. o_o I'm a homebody... :P

Only a few of the girls in our group got asked to prom, so the rest of us just went as a group of good ol' friends. I don't see any problem to going to school dances with friends. I think it's more fun that way, but if you manage to snag someone, by all means go ahead and have fun!! It's fun either way actually. I guess it depends on the person. :P Hopefully during college or after college I'll be able to find my fish in the sea.. ^_^

Pink French Tips Nail Art

Hello~

A while ago I did very simple french nails using butter London Macbeth instead of the traditional white nail polish color. I really liked how it turned out!

yummy... I love granola bars.

L-R: butter London Macbeth, topcoat

Macbeth was opaque enough that I only needed one coat. I love butter London polishes.. they go on so smoothly and evenly, and are usually opaque in one coat. I used tape for the french tips, because I can't really freehand that well.. I hate using tape even more though, but I tried it again this time, and it actually worked!!

I love french nails.. cept for the fact that I have to grow my nails out before I can do it, because french nails (in my opinion) look better on longer nails rather than short nails. Probably because then you have more room to work with. :P

Haha I actually tried learning a dance for the past hour or so.. I learned like 20 seconds worth of the dance! yay!! Idk if I'll ever get to the chorus.... T_T But it's so fun! I feel so cool when I dance, which I know sounds lame, but meh. Dancing actually gets me off my internet butt.

2048: EXO derpy edition

Hello~

So this is how I spent my break so far...

Woohoo!! A derpy EXO version of 2048

I finally won!! You can see Chen in the corner with a very uncomfortable face but yup he's supposed to be the "2048" tile in this version.

I recommend that you guys play this here! Their faces make it worthwhile. :P You won't regret it haha...

Ohoh I have a DMV story.. So last Saturday I went to the DMV to do a walk-in road test to get my license. I got there at 6am, and it opens at 7:30am, so when I arrived there, there were a couple of cars but nobody was outside the building. I decided to walk outside and wait in front of the door before other people started coming, but the second I arrived at the front, EVERYBODY came out of their cars and walked up to wait as well. We waited for a long time, and it was a bit chilly, but I had my iPod so I wasn't THAT bored, but something funny happened. The four people behind us pretty much plotted against us, saying out loud that I wasn't technically first because I arrived there later than them. It was pretty annoying but I just brushed it off. Finally we went in at 7:30 am, and they only took the first 5 walk-ins. Luckily I was first in line so I got in, but for some reason I was third on the walk-in list, so I was like meh.

We waited for 6 hours, until around 11:30pm, and they announced that they couldn't take any walk-ins. The five of us were devastated. I mean, I guess we knew that it wasn't guaranteed, but waiting for 6 hours was tiring and mentally exhausting. I played through almost all the songs in my iPod, and played 2048 and flappy bird. I ate like a million granola bars and Twix mini candy bars as well. Pshh what diet? T_T

I was super sad and felt very unproductive after coming back home. I had just wasted 6 hours hoping that I could finally get my license..... I ended up going home and working on my calc project for a couple of hours to make myself feel better, and then I ate dinner and slept early because I only got 4 hours of sleep the day before.

Well, that's my DMV story. I wish somebody had told me this earlier, but walk-in road tests are nearly impossible on Saturdays and Tuesdays. :P Arghh!! haha T-T I wish I had been smart and had reserved a road test a couple of months ago, because when I called them a few weeks ago, the earlier reservation was late May, which is after our graduation, so I was hoping to get it done earlier... I'll try again sometime though!! This time I'm coming prepared! I'm bringing a lot more food, blankets, games, and a campsite.

It would be really sad if I actually was able to do the road test but didn't pass..... T_T Wish me luck guys!!

China Glaze Pastel Nails NOTD swatches and review / the aquarium!!

Hello~

Dang it's already april!! I'm so sad: I missed the pokemon google maps thing from yesterday.. oh well..
Anyways, guess what!?
I got the cold. again. sixth time this school year I think. Getting sick is becoming a monthly event... T_T
The weird part is that I usually only get sick once a year, but this year, I'm getting SUPER sick like every single month.. It's not a slight cold, but a full-out influenza type of cold, but it's not really the flu.. it just feels worse than the typical cold I get. I blame the stress.

Well here's a short NOTD that I did using China Glaze polishes! Since spring is here, I'm turning more and more to pastel colors.

I think I did two coats of everything. Please ignore the bubbles: they were from my top coat...

quick messy painting woop woop!

L-R: China Glaze Something Sweet, Aquadelic

Quick Reviews:

Something Sweet: This is a very pretty light pastel pink with a very thick, creamy formula. It's not THAT streaky for a pastel polish, but I still had a few bald spots.. probably cause of my sucky painting.. But it's still a really pretty light baby pink. I love pinks..

Aquadelic: I actually did a post a long time ago with swatches and stuff on this.. It's basically a really pretty and bright turquoise with a very nice, opaque formula. I think it's my favorite turquoise out of the other similar polishes I did a comparison on.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like China Glaze polishes dry quicker than other polishes? o_o idk...

Moving on~
We went to the aquarium! It was my first time going to the aquarium here, and it was better than I expected. :D

I thought these jellyfish were soooooo cooooooooool

With the aquarium comes overpriced food. The fries were like $4 or $5 and the drink was $3-$4.... T_T It was good, but omg I could have bought an entire meal with that money..

The aquarium was fun, even though I'm not very fond of the aquatic life.. I have some sort of fear of the ocean; whenever we drive next to or over a large body of water or the ocean, I have this fear that somehow I'm going to fall in and drown. It's inexplicable, so I don't really tell anyone.

Wah my throat hurts so much.. I came home today, ate dinner, and then slept for 4 hours.. Then I woke up, took a shower, studied for psych, and here I am. :P

My dinner today consisted of: a bowl of hot soup, a bagel with a generous amount of cream cheese, lots of ritz crackers with more cream cheese, and 2 bowls of cereal. o_________o so much food.... but I have to fuel my body so it can heal and I won't be sick hopefully by this Friday!!!

'Til next time~
