Pastel Strawberries~

Hello all!

Oh my it's been so long since I last posted.. I've been busy ever since online classes started. The classes have crazy long assignments! Sigh and once online classes are over I gotta finish my summer homework in 3 weeks.. T_T I haven't even started..

Anyways~ I've been painting my nails more often. Here was my NOTD a few weeks ago...
I actually had no idea how I was gonna paint my nails, so I just took out a bunch of colors.

Pastel Strawberries! From thumb to pink for the base colors: Hello Kitty Banana Cream, Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, Revlon Gumdrop, Ulta Encore Pink, Sinful Colors Orange Cream. For the leaves, I used Sinful Colors Pistache, and used a F21 glitter. The glitter wasn't as dense as I though. D:

This is the same F21 Glitter, except with a generous 2 coats. I still wish it was more dense! haha The top nail is Essie Coat Azure, and the bottom nail is butter London Blagger.

You can probably tell by now that sometimes I can't stand wearing the same color on all 10 fingers. Some of my friends think it's weird how I paint them all different, but hey, I like colorful variety. :D I feel like painting all your fingers the same color gives sort of an elegant, polished effect though.

'Til next time~

NOTD: China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Mani!

Hi guys~

This is just a quick NOTD post. I finally got around to using the nail polish I bought from China Glaze's Cirque du Soleil collection! I still want It's a Trap-eze! :P

Sorry for the messiness.. I should start clean up before I take the pictures..

From L-R: NYC Grand Central Station, CG Surreal Appeal, CG Hanging in the Balance, CG Whirled Away

I used one coat of Hanging in the Balance and Whirled Away, and two coats for Surreal Appeal.

Surreal Appeal is really pretty; it's slightly thick but nothing that a few drops of thinner can't fix.
Hanging in the Balance is really pretty too, and very saturated with color; it's actually a lot more dark blue in person!
Whirled Away is an interesting glitter; hard to get it on the nail evenly, and hard to get off unless you use the foil method to remove nail polish.
If you look closely at my pointer finger in the above picture, you can see that as I was trying to evenly disperse the glitter polish, I smeared the blue polish underneath it, hence the blue-ish tint over the white glitter.

Overall, I really like these colors from the collection. They're so bright and fun! Maybe it's because I'm weak for blues and corals and pinks.. and interesting glitters.. T_T

Nivea Lip Butter Review!

Hey guys!

I have yet another lip balm review today. It's Nivea's lip butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss~ I got it for $2 at CVS this week because of their weekly promo. I'm so glad I waited!

Filled to the brim with product yay!
It looks so perfect....

You can see that if you apply a thick layer there's a milky effect.

Here I applied a thin layer of the product. There's a nice sheen. :D

Pros:
-Smells so nice~ I smell raspberries and a slight scent of roses... So nice and fruity and yummy.
-Very moisturizing; not too waxy.
- Gives a nice sheen to the lips. It's not overly shiny either. :D
- The packaging is very secure. Ever since I started searching for a certain lip stick in drugstores, I freak out when there's nothing protecting a lip product.
- Easy to remove the cap.

Cons:
-The cap isn't entirely secure. It might come off in purses or something.
-The scent goes away quite quickly. D:
-Melts easily = keep away from direct sunlight!

Overall: I really like this! I use this before bed to moisturize and condition my lips. The next day my lips feel softer and smoother. No waxy residue or cooling sensation (phew!). I love this scent~ Smells so yummy! I think this lip butter is better suited for home use because I don't like sticking my fingers in there when they're not clean.

'Til next time ^^

Carmex Strawberry Lip Balm SPF 15 Review

Hello~

I got this Carmex for a really good price a while ago at CVS.. I never tried Carmex so I thought I 'd give the strawberry "click-stick" lip balm a try.

As you can see it's a clear, yellow-ish colored balm, kind of like vaseline. Well, it's pretty much petrolatum with a minty effect and a faint strawberry scent.
Whenever I try a new lip balm, I always smell it first. I was surprised by the nice strawberry scent AT FIRST... Then I went ahead and put the lip balm on and... uh oh.. >_< The strawberry scent virtually disappeared and I was left with the unpleasant scent of the SPF ingredients and a very minty feeling left on my lips for over 20 minutes.. People who like that cooling sensation will love this lip balm, but I personally prefer fruity lip balms.

Pros:
-Moisturizing
-Clear formula, looks glossy on lips
-SPF 15
-Good price (budget friendly)
-Appropriate for everyday use

Cons:
-Smells not as pleasant once you start using it
-sort of waxy/sticky on the lips
-very strong cooling sensation
-THE SCENT.... T_T I want that strawberry scent back..

Overall: Carmex Strawberry Lip Balm SPF 15 was okay. I didn't really have huge expectations, but it was fine. If SPF and a cooling sensation is wanted in a moisturizing lip balm, I'd recommend this. If you are sensitive to chemical-y scents and hate the cooling sensation (like me) then go look for something else lol.

OH by the way the click stick effect is addicting! If you twist the lip balm up or down it makes this clicking sound - very satisfying.. or is it just me...? >.<

Let my lip balm collecting continue!

Sinful Colors Sugar Rush Collection Swatches

Hey Guys :D

I finally got around to doing the swatches for the Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection that came out a while back. If you're interested, I posted the swatches for the OPI Mariah Carey collection and the Skyfall collection.

Here they are: The swatches aren't very clear, I apologize. I'm getting a new camera soon :)

Candy Coated is a purple cream polish with subtle shimmer, although you can't see the shimmer on the nail. It is opaque in 2 coats.

 2 Coats

Unicorn is a yellow cream color. It looks really pale in the picture, but in reality it is much darker. The same goes for Candy Coated. It is extremely sheer, with 3 coats I can still see the free edge of my nail.

3 Coats

Orange Cream is a creamsicle color. This color, I love, but the formula is the exact same as Unicorn. It is sheer and I can still see the free edge of my nail with 3 coats.

 3 Coats

Sweet Tooth is a purple cream with a pink undertone with subtle shimmer. I really love this color because the formula is similar to Candy Coated, where it is opaque in 2 coats and the shimmer is hardly noticeable.
 2 Coats

Sugar Rush is a Baby Blue creme, and is by far my favorite from the collection. It is opaque in 2 coats. The only thing about the formula that I don't like about the formula, is that after you use it for a while, the polish starts to get really thick and hard to work with.

2 Coats

I hope you all enjoyed my long overdue swatches. Have a great weekend!

My Latest Obsession: Summer Lip Colors

Hey guys!

Lately I've been so obsessed with lip products! Especially lip balms/lip stains. My favorite colors are peaches and corals, and summer is a perfect time for bright colors!. I really like how fun tangerine/coral lipsticks look. It can brighten up someone's face without looking too dramatic. I don't really wear makeup right now, because I'm a student and I like to sleep. Plus I'm too lazy to put on/erase makeup at the end of the day.. -.- I guess I'm not obsessed with make up just yet. What do you guys think about wearing lip products but no other makeup? Would it look awkward?

Here are some of the products on my wishlist... I'm keeping myself from buying them because I know I probably won't use them until college or something. But once I start wearing makeup, BAM I'm going to buy some of these, at least one of them.

Summer Lip colors

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Tint in Joy
This is the light peach colored chubby stick balm in the center. Such a pretty peachy lip tint! The price is what gets me.. T_T

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous
A bright and pretty orange lip stain~ A lot more affordable than Tarte, but I heard there's some tugging..

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Coral Crush 515
This is the lipstick on the top right. SO PRETTY but kind of really bright. I looked up swatches and apparently you can layer the intensity though, and it's very moisturizing. :D

Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti
These came out a while ago, but Tutti Frutti is one of those rare wearable oranges for medium-tan skin tones like me. So bright and fun. I actually want all of the limited edition lip butters from earlier this Spring.. (Juicy Papaya, Pink Lemonade, Sorbet, Wild Watermelon)

Benefit Chacha Tint
I reallyyyy want this~ T_T I saw it on Jen from frmheadtotoe.com and it looked really nice. You can do the gradient lip color thing with this! Plus you can use it as a cheek tint.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Wink
This is the light pink lip balm on the bottom center. I actually have this, but I want to wait until I'm actually going to use it frequently until I open it. It's really cute and moisturizing...

I think I'm going a little too far with the lip products.. When I see bloggers haul all of the colors I want though, I do get a little jelly. I'm pretty broke, so I'll just wait and see.. I don't absolutely need these, they're just wishes. >.< I just hope these colors are true to their form, because my lips are pretty pigmented.

'Til next time!

NOTD/Review: My Vampire is Buff

Hello!

Today I have a Nail of the Day to share with you all. I just recently got this polish during ulta's 2 for $12 deal.

This is My Vampire is Buff from the Euro Centrale collection from OPI. It is a creamy nude color with a peachy undertone; I love the color, but I'm not a big fan of the formula. I used 2 coats and this was the outcome:

From far away, it looks OK, but if you guys look closely, you guys can see streaks from the brush. The formula is very thin, sheer, and liquidy. I would recommend a top coat with this polish because it has chipped already and I've only worn this for one day..

Did you guys get anything from the Euro Centrale Collection?

OPI Couture de Minnie Swatches / Review

Hello!

I went to Ulta a few days ago and bought some of the nail polishes from OPI's 2013 Couture de Minnie collection. I loved Minnie as I was growing up~ I missed the Minnie collection from OPI last year because I wasn't into nail polish that much, but this year I'm so glad I bought these!

I chose OPI Minnie Style and OPI Magazine Cover Mouse.

L-R: Minnie Style, Magazine Cover Mouse

I love glitters and liquid sands!

Under natural light - only 1 coat of each
Minnie Style over OPI Die Another Day (from the 2012 Skyfall Collection)

Under artificial light
Minnie Style is a really cute glitter. It's a combination of white, red, and hot pink hex glitter. The formula was kind of thick, but the glitter coverage was nice. I still used the dabbing method just in case. This combination reminds me of Minnie's dress!

OPI Magazine Cover Mouse - outside
Only 1 coat

Under artificial light

Probably my favorite out of this collection~

Look at that sparkly goodness..!! >_<;;
Magazine Cover Mouse is a strawberry red packed with shimmer. It's full of glitter and has that really nice Liquid Sand finish. I think I really got into the whole Liquid Sand trend..^^;; The formula is very even and nice; no gloopy mess. I only had to use one coat for opacity. It dried fairly quickly, and before you know it you're left with a sandy texture on your nails filled with sparkles and magic.

I'm trying to limit the amount of polish I buy now, so I didn't buy the other polishes from this collection. If you're hesitating on whether or not to purchase these, just keep in mind that they won't disappoint, especially for glitter/liquid sand lovers.

'Til next time!! ^_^
