Nail Polish Collection - I got a melmer!!

Hello hello ^-^

Guess what guys? I got a melmer!! Yayy I got it for 60% off at Michael's thanks to their black friday deal. This was the only thing I bought this year for Black Friday.. I'm a po girl now..

Anyways, I really like it! I wouldn't have bought it at its original price, but the sale price was worth it.
The assembly part had some interesting directions, but it came out fine at the end. :D

This is how I store my nail polish before: I used shoe boxes and souvenir boxes, and stacked them up. It was sort of a hassle because I had to lift and spread them all out on the ground to choose colors. I haven't counted all my bottles, and I don't plan to.. I'm going to stop buying a lot of nail polish now, because I can only manage so much..

Yayy this is the top drawer of the melmer. It has Sally Hansen, Zoya, Orly, Modi, Petite, and my top and base coats and nail polish remover and other supplies.

The second drawer has my huge collection of Sinful Colors, Revlon, Essie, Wet n Wild, NYC, The Face Shop, and some other random smaller bottles of nail polish from drugstores usually.

The bottom drawer has most of my upper brands, like OPI, China Glaze, Nicole by OPI, butter london, and other random polishes that I don't have a lot of like Ulta and Hello Kitty and Essence and Urban Outfitters. (I like to organize by brand, because it looks nice that way. heheh...:D)

I know, I have wayyyyy too much nail polish. T^T That's why I'm going to stop. I used to buy colors I didn't even really like, just because they were on sale. Now I'm going to only buy things that I realllyyyyyy want. I haven't bought any nail polish from the winter collections this year (I think) and I'm hoping to keep it that way. I usually buy from the spring collections more.. But yep! I'm happy I got a melmer, because it is a way better storage system for me than my shoe box method. It looks a lot cleaner and neater too. :D My goal for the rest of my life is to not exceed one melmer full of polish, unless I get rich-wait what?

Weight update

Hello~

I've always struggled with my weight ever since middle school.. I eat when I'm stressed, so I naturally gain lots of weight. Right now, I'm at an all time high at 57 kg......!! I've never been this heavy before. (I'm not tall, so little weight fluctuations make a noticeable difference.) My goal is still my original weight, 50 kg. After losing some weight in the past month, I gained it all back and gained even more due to late night snacks, lots of chocolate, eating a lot in general, etc. I don't have the time to exercise, as I barely get 5 hours of sleep during school days, so my weight is just getting heavier and heavier..

I can feel it in my face and my thighs mostly. I just made a huge batch of chicken soup again a few days ago, so I'll just keep on eating that. I'm tempted by snacks though... T_T I actually have no clue how I'm going to lose my weight.
Yummy~

Here are some tips I made for myself:
-Eat less in general
-Avoid eating past dinner
-Avoid bread, pasta, rice, cereal, other carbs that make me sleepy
-Cut down on snacks
-Eat more fruits and veggies
-Think of the jeans you can't fit into anymore before eating something fatty :P

Hopefully I'll be able to cut down to at least 55kg sometime soon.. My whole body feels heavy, and whenever I look at my face in the mirror, it looks like my whole face is bloated and I'm sucking on jawbreakers.. My band teacher says whenever we slump we look "fat, dumb and happy." I want to be healthyyyyy!!

My makeup collection

Hello hello~

Today I wanted to share the makeup collection of a total makeup noob. I think I have enough makeup to last me for a while, since I don't wear makeup on a daily basis. I'm more into nail polish.. huehue -_-;; But I haven't actually tried all of these products yet, because I don't like to open things if I'm not going to use them right away..

This is where I store all of my makeup.. I like to keep in here because I don't exactly have a set place to do my makeup. If I keep all my supplies in here, I can conveniently take it to a place where there's a mirror.

Yup.. lotsa stuff... I bought everything here just this year. :P

False eyelashes: I have a pair of half-lashes and a pair of dolly-ish lashes for cosplay. I bought the Revlon precision lash glue, which works extremely well. I like false lashes, and I'm planning to buy a pair of more natural looking ones. :D

The top pencil liner is Wet n Wild's Coloricon eyeliner in black.. I haven't used it yet. T_T
The second one down in the metal casing is Physician's Formula liquid eyeliner in black. It's really good for detailed lining, because it has a thin, felt tip.
The third one down is Milani Liquid Eye liquid-like eye liner pencil in black. It's a very nice, creamy pencil liner that is retractable, so no sharpening!
The Wet n Wild gel liner in black works very well, but I prefer liquid or pencil. I'm just too lazy to clean the brush after using gel liner.. I heard it's a nice drugstore alternative to Bobbi Brown's gel liners.
The one on the very right is Wet n Wild Mega liner liquid eye liner in black. It is a brush tip that is much thicker than the Physician's formula one, but you can still get clean, sharp lines. I didn't buy the waterproof version so I could practice with this one and easily wash it off with water.

These are all of my eyeshadows..
Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow pan in Brazen: I don't really recommend this one, as most of the colors were chalky and crumbly, with lots of fallout.. I regret buying it.. T_T
Wet n Wild Don't Steal my Thunder: has nice colors.. I haven't tried it yet.. -.-
Milani Shadow Eyez in Brown Deluxe and Winter White: Very pigmented, long lasting eyeshadow pencils. I just have to buy a jumbo eye pencil sharpener now..
Physician's Formula Natural nude and Classic nude palettes: These have some very nice colors. Most of them are shimmers, with a few matte colors.. I bought these for BOGO free, and probably wouldn't have bought them without that deal. I tried it a few times, but the color payoff wasn't very impressive. I might try them with primer next time.
Maybelline Color tattoo in Barely Branded: This would be a great all-around base color. I haven't opened this one either.. I don't like to open things unless I'm going to use them right away..
Chantecaille: This black eyeshadow is a matte black that I found in my mom's very small makeup stash.. She doesn't wear eye makeup, but I use this for shading in my brows.. it works! haha...

Clinique lash doubling mascara: I got this mascara as part of a sample set. Haven't tried it yet..
Covergirl lash blast length water resistant mascara: This really does lengthen your lashes! It's really noticeable, and paired with a volume-increasing mascara, you could really make your lashes thicker and beauuutifullll.
Maybelline Great Lash I See Blue mascara: I really wanted to try a colored mascara, and reviews for this shade were relatively positive. I'll try it soon.

Elf smudge brush, eyeshadow brush, and eyelid primer: I bought these because they were inexpensive and work pretty well. The eyelid primer I haven't tried yet, but I will soooon!
The mini brush in the middle came with the Wet n Wild gel liner, but I use it to fill in my brows. hehehe..

So yup, this is my makeup stash. -_- I don't plan on getting any more, because I'm saving up for the Naked 1 palette. Oops I forgot to include my Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream, and my Revlon concealers.. I don't really plan on wearing makeup every day, because I'm super lazy and I hate removing makeup, so I'm going to try very hard to keep my makeup stash as small as possible. This amount is perfect for a noob like me.

Tiny drugstore haul

Hello ^_^

Earlier today, I stopped by Walgreen's and scored a very nice deal. It was swell. (I watched Pleasantville yesterday.. it's a good movie!)

I bought the new Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Mischievous ($8.99), Revlon nail lacquer in 770 Heavenly($4.99), and Jordana twist and shine moisturizing balm stain in Candied Coral ($2.99).
Breakdown of my deal: Revlon products were 40% off, and I used these other coupons to get all three products for just over $8. :D I'm so happy, because these have been on my wishlist for a while.. ^_^

Top to bottom: Revlon Heavenly, Mischievous, Jordana Candied Coral

Such a pretty iridescent glitter! The square and hexagonal glitters are in a clear, milky-ish base. Apparently, this is a dupe of deborah lippmann's Stairway to Heaven.

Revlon Mischievous is a light, apricot matte balm. It would be a great color for the Spring and Summer.
Jordana Candied Coral is a bright coral shade. I haven't really tried any of these yet, but I'll post a more detailed post once I do! I try to limit myself to buying only items that are not similar to things I already own. Also, I prefer coral, apricot, peachy shades for lip colors.. I don't think reds and purples and baby pinks look good on my skin tone.. so I think I'm done buying lip balms and stuffs for now. :D

Thanks for reading! I have a loooooot more to post. I might be able to do it over the next week because of Thanksgiving break. Time to finish my college apps, relax, and get over my cold. This is the third time I've been sick in the past few months.. I don't know what happened to my immune system...

'Til next time!

P.S. Happy 50th anniversary Doctor Who!! ^_^ (woohoo 10th doctor! <3)

Neo Dali Brown Circle Lenses 14.2 mm Review

Hello!

Here is a very late review of Neo Dali Brown Circle Lenses! These were my first ever color contacts.. and I like them. :D I ordered them from Honey Color, because this particular product had one of the highest reviews, and worked for my cosplay.

It came with a cute hippo contacts case! :D

Remember to soak them in contact solution before wearing them the first time!

Without circle lenses

With Neo Dali Brown Circle Lenses heehee

Another pic with the Neo Dali Brown Circle Lenses (derpy eyes)

I apologize: I am a total make up noob, and I needed exaggerated eyelashes for the cosplay.

Anyways, I really like the Neo Dali Brown Circle Lenses!! They make your eyes look bigger, are pretty comfortable, and look very natural yet noticeable. I wanted a pair of contacts that I could use for other events like h.c. and prom, and these work very well. I actually wore them for around 9-10 hours during an anime convention, which isn't very good at all for my eyes, but they were still very wearable near the end. But I love that feeling when you take of your contacts after a long day.. your eyes feel so refreshed and free!

According to Honey Color, these are 14.2 mm in diameter. The water content is 45% too, which explains the comfortable wear. Most of my friends didn't even realize that I was wearing circle lenses; it looks that natural, yet enhances your inner beauty. LOL what

I highly recommend these if you're new to circle lenses and want to try some natural looking ones before venturing out to different colors and larger ones like 14.5mm ones. Neo Dali Brown would be perfect for more "toned-down" dolly looks, and especially ulzzang stuffs. I really want to buy a pair of blue, hazel, grey, red, amethyst, purple, and green circle lenses... Gotta save up money!

OPI Samoan Sand Swatch and Review

Hello!

This is OPI Samoan Sand, a very pretty nude nail color. I was on a hunt for a "my nails but better"/mannequin nails shade, and I think this one was pretty nice. ^^

Two coats, under artificial light with top coat. Sorry for the messy painting..

Yep, another attempted bottle shot..

Update: I got a better bottle shot! This is more close to what it looks like in real life.

With different lighting, and lobster hands, you can see that the polish has yellow/pink undertones.

I like this lighting better though. :D

The formula is good: sheer with the first coat, with maybe a few streaks, but with a second coat, everything evens out nicely. You could even put on a third coat if you hate visible nail lines, but I like the semi-sheer effect sometimes.

I guess this is a beige, nude, pinkish yellowish sheer color? (lovely description, -_-) It reminds me of sand (derp) and sort of a dull peach.. I wouldn't recommend using a matte top coat, because it'll look like you have doll skin on your nails.. T_T Unless that's your goal.. If you have a similar skin tone, the polish will look like mannequin nails; a nice, sophisticated sort of look. It MIGHT make your hands look a little dirty, because of the yellow undertones, but everyone is different.

The thing is, mannequin nail shades are difficult to find, at least for me. I actually researched and bought quite a few other nude nail colors before buying this, and I'm still on the hunt. I found another nice one, but I'll post about that another time.

I'm actually amazed at how I painted well for my derpy left hand. o_o magic...!

Overall, I give OPI Samoan Sand five umbrellas.

Chocolate chip cookies!

Hello~

Yes, it's 11:57pm right now, but I am craving cookies! Chocolate chip cookies! I baked some with my friends a while ago, and looking at the pictures made me want to eat them even more. D:

Cookie dough ice cream.. I want that too..

Before going to the oven!

We accidentally overcooked some of them.. The ones on the left look like elderly cookies, while the ones on the right are the young'uns. LOL

Lalalalalala looks so YUMMY. I wanna stuff my face with cookies now. What diet.

But yes, I'm hungry, and I miss summer. nomnom maybe I'll buy some cookies in the cafeteria tomorrow.. but nothing is better than warm, homemade chocolate chip cookies and some milk. I always wished that on the first day of school, I could come home to a batch of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. My family doesn't really bake though..

Daily Marbles:
-Almost done with college apps... almost...!
-hungry!
-tests and quizzes galore... gotta raise my ap calc bc grade.. T-T physics and lit are strangely difficult as well..
-last marching band game tomorrow! unless we make it to playoffs..
-did you know oreos and nutella taste so GOOD together? at least for me.. oreos and peanut butter are delicious too... yumm.... golden oreos..
-I bought some really cute polishes today.. I'll post pictures soon. ^^
-started watching korean dramas again.. so far my current favorites are Secret (Jisung is so unffsghh feels) and Reply 1994 (the guys are so adorable..) :'D

I shall return with higher quality posts soon.. I still have a lot of pictures queued up! Gotta catch up!

OPI My Vampire is Buff Swatch / Review

Hello hello,

Happy November!!
Ahh the weather was so nice this morning but now grey clouds are starting to appear.
This is from a while ago too.. I'll keep saying that until I catch up..!
I bought OPI My Vampire is Buff this past spring, when it came out in the 2013 OPI Euro Centrale collection. I was going to either get this or Zoya Jacqueline. I'm glad I chose MVIB though, because I feel it doesn't make my fingers look as dirty as Jacqueline does.

Two coats, under artificial light. I just grabbed a random grey polish for the ring finger accent.. hehe

I attempted a bottle shot.

Update: I got a more accurate bottle shot! This color is closer to what it actually looks like.

Here you can see it looks a lot more yellow. The lighting made my fingers look like freakin' lobster hands, but in reality, it isn't this bad.. :P

I guess the more accurate shot is the very first pic. This polish could be used as a base color for so many pastel designs! The formula was manageable.. The first coat was sheer and uneven, but if you apply the second coat carefully, you end up with a beautiful opaque coat. :D I don't know what to exactly call this color.. An ivory? beige-ish..? Anyways, it looks very soft and feminine, and elegant. I like it. :D
