Essie Bahama Mama Swatch + Review

Happy Lunar New Year Everyone!

I have Essie Bahama Mama to show you today. I rarely wear darker colors so this was new to me, and I have to say, I really really like it.

It's a oxblood type color that was popular a few years ago.

I really love the color, don't really love the formula. It was really streaky on the first coat. The second coat covered pretty well, but under sunlight, it was easy to tell see that there were patches (pointer finger).

I used two coats for the pictures above. I also made the mistake of wrapping the tip before my second coat of polish, which is why there's excess polish at the tip. hehe oops.

Overall: love the color ( I've already worn it twice), the formula is a bit tricky, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

Graduation~!!

Hello~

I know this is months overdue, but might as well post it. lots of yummy food~ If you guys didn't know, I graduated this year so this is sort of what I did that day. I had no school *woohoo* and only had to go to school in the afternoon for the ceremony.

After graduation rehearsal in the morning, we walked to the bakery and got green tea bubble tea!! so good~

There were my nails that day.. Don't you agree that they are bright colors?!?! sorry for the bad lighting.
The blue is Wet n Wild Teal Slowly and See. The yellow is Revlon Buttercup. ALERT: Buttercup stains, so make sure to apply a coat of white polish underneath to avoid staining.

For lunch, my family went to a Korean buffet. I was really craving chicken.. I also got hobak-jeon(zucchini squash) and matang..(sweet potatoes)

Someone loves the veggies!! (Not me..)

More yummy food~

Graduation started at 8pm I think? Yeah we had it at our football field... at least there weren't many mosquitoes and it didn't rain!!

The long line of people getting their diplomas... I'm near the end..

Afterwards I had a little graduation party at my house because I wasn't sure if I was going to see some of my friends again who were going out of state for college. Costco chocolate cake is the best!!

This is the food. So yummy~

But yup~ I'm so glad graduation is over. It wasn't as moving as I thought it would be, but whatever~ No more school from 8am-4pm!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it's already July though.... I haven't really done anything either... sighs T_T Maybe I'll still be able to get that job at Domino's, even though they called me for an interview almost a month ago...

'Til next time!

Watermelon Nail Art!

Hello!

Watermelons are appropriate for summer, so I tried watermelon nails again! For supplies, go to my previous post, where I first did this nail design. I even have a tutorial on there!

These were so bad.. I'm looking at my pictures more and more and sighs.. Gotta practice more!! Almost tagged these as #failnails... I'm only satisfied with my white french tips. maybe the light green tips as well.

Is it just me, or don't the seeds look so....... asdjfklj? It looks like my watermelon slices have been diseased by something... Reminds me of Rosalia from Trauma Team. >_<;;

Next time I'm not gonna be lazy and actually use a dotting tool for the seeds... Round ones look so much cuter than my attempted "raindrop" seeds..

I was SO lazy this time and didn't take out any nail tools.. I just free-handed everything, and yup.. I'm never doing that again. learned my lesson. -_-

Out of curiosity, I was looking up nail tech stuff.... and argh I should've looked it up earlier!! I could have maybe found a program so that I could become licensed over the summer... That would've been nice. I'll look into it again next summer, because I'm so busy lately.. School hasn't even started and I've got interviews and stuff to apply for. I don't even have any nice clothes for the interviews!! I live in shorts and t-shirts and sneakers. T_T

Fourth of July Mani!

Hello Everyone!

It's been a while since I painted my nails and it just so happened to be July 4th. I'm not used to doing something so festive, but I figured why not.

The Mani is plain and simple. Nothing too special (I can't draw for my life, so the nail art idea just went right out the window).

I was originally going to use the glitter from the OPI Mariah Carey collection, but that didn't happen. It was just.. so bad. I ended up switching to the Zoya one that I hauled ages ago.

Hehe.. the Julep one didn't fit in the group photo, so it got its own shot. The name (Molly) rubbed off too.. sorry!

I started off with this Mani:

Trying out a hand position (position? not sure what to call it). We'll have to see if this "position" works out.  I wanted something sparkly on my nails so I ended up going with Zoya Ginessa (instead of the OPI one).

Zoya Ginessa on the ring finger.
I probably could have left it like that (above), but just decided to paint the rest with the Zoya polish. I ended up with this:

Much more sparkly and somewhat more fitting for July 4th. Oh, I almost forgot: 2 coats on all polishes and one coat on the Zoya one (2 coats on China Glaze as a base).

Thanks for reading and Have a great rest of the week!

Kpop Nails: 2NE1 Minzy Pastel French Tip Nail Art

Hello~

Woohoo I'm back with more Kpop nails! This time I tried Minzy's pastel two-toned french tips. I remember I saw her wear something similar on her nails in an episode of 2NE1 TV, but I'm not sure which episode.. I think it's from Season 2, when they went to London and ate macarons? I'm sorry.. my memory is fuzzy..

Her colors were a bit different, but I tried to manage with my own polishes. You can't really go wrong with pastels. \o/ Also, her nails were much longer and square at the tips, so they have a different feel than my "rendition" yup...

Yes, I know the color is a bit uneven and sheer, but from far away, they look fine....!

This is a more accurate picture of the colors. This is under direct natural light. Actually, all of these pictures are... c:

You can see the wobbly tip edges here.. Yes, I free-handed this, because tape is my worst enemy...!!

More bread! Yummy castella.. I'm really craving mocha bread after seeing Xiumin eat it on Hot Moment XOXO.... I realized that I haven't eaten it in years!

Sorry no bottle shots again.. But it's the same polishes I used in my other post here where I did swatches and reviewed them. So if you're interested, click away! The pastel green is Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, while the pink is butter London Teddy Girl.

On a side note...
AP EXAMS ARE FINALLY OVER FOR ME... FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! My last one was this afternoon, for AP French, and dang, the simulated conversation and cultural comparison were a bit rough, but I hope I pass.. :P

I know I should really start applying for jobs, but for some reason, I'm putting it off.. I hope it's not too late.. >_<

Update + Prom Nails

Hi Guys!

Its been quite a while. School has been pretty hectic lately. Studying for exams have taken up all my time. I just took my last exam today and that leaves me with lots more free time to blog.. and watch EXO videos.. hehe.

I have a few posts coming up that I've saved over the past few months and I can't wait to show you guys.

So I guess we should start off with my prom nails.. or what I would have worn to prom. I didn't have enough time to paint my nails, but this is what I would have worn. Nothing fancy, just plain and simple.

I didn't want anything too sparkly, my dress and shoes took care of that. So naturally, I went with the only polish I had that was a light pink and sheer. That polish just happened to be OPI Mimosas For Mr. & Mrs.

Sorry it's so dark (above). I didn't realize that the lighting was off...

I used 3 coats above. 3 coats is perfect, slightly sheer and slightly opaque. If I were to add anything, I would probably put some gold rhinestones on my ring finger as an accent nail..

I hope you enjoyed my post and have a great weekend!

Mint Sorbet and Teddy Girl Swatch and Review

Hello~

Spring means pastels~ and lots of pollen.. I love pastel colors, so today I have a very simple pastel NOTD.
Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet is my favorite mint polish, and butter London Teddy Girl is slowly becoming my favorite pastel pink polish... Swatches and quick reviews coming up!

I used two coats for each polish. Natural light.

Artificial light.

Yummy.. Who else likes castella?

Sorry I forgot bottle shots, but Mint Sorbet is from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line. Teddy Girl is from, well, butter London.

Mint Sorbet: This is your very basic mint creme polish. I love the color and the formula. It's smooth, non-streaky, and opaque in two coats. Since this is from Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line, the brushes are nice to work with, at least for me. Plus the brush is very long, which I feel gives much more control when painting. I highly recommend this polish! It's such a pretty mint color~

Teddy Girl: For a creme pastel pink polish, the formula is pretty good. I've had much worse. T_T Teddy Girl is opaque in two coats, and is slightly streaky the first coat but it's fine because the second coat evens everything out. Of course, butter London polishes are always very nice~ The brushes are smaller, like Essie brushes, which I feel are good for their formulas. This may be slightly runny, but for a pastel pink, you can't get much better. :P

If I could, I would wear pastel colors everyday.. I'm still looking for a pastel yellow that doesn't stain my nails!! T^T

Oh by the way, I officially committed to my future university today. It feels sort of weird knowing that I'll be somewhere else for the next four years. I committed too late to find a roommate among my friends, so I just did the random roommate. Hopefully my future roommate is nice and doesn't smoke or bring people over! Because I like peace and quiet when I study... My friend told me to either choose two of the following: a social life, good grades, or sleep. I think I'll choose good grades and sleep.... T_T I mean, pshhh... a social life.....? ToT I'm afraid I won't have time to do any nail art... Maybe just simple solid colors... wahh.... first world problems.

Pink French Tips Nail Art

Hello~

A while ago I did very simple french nails using butter London Macbeth instead of the traditional white nail polish color. I really liked how it turned out!

yummy... I love granola bars.

L-R: butter London Macbeth, topcoat

Macbeth was opaque enough that I only needed one coat. I love butter London polishes.. they go on so smoothly and evenly, and are usually opaque in one coat. I used tape for the french tips, because I can't really freehand that well.. I hate using tape even more though, but I tried it again this time, and it actually worked!!

I love french nails.. cept for the fact that I have to grow my nails out before I can do it, because french nails (in my opinion) look better on longer nails rather than short nails. Probably because then you have more room to work with. :P

Haha I actually tried learning a dance for the past hour or so.. I learned like 20 seconds worth of the dance! yay!! Idk if I'll ever get to the chorus.... T_T But it's so fun! I feel so cool when I dance, which I know sounds lame, but meh. Dancing actually gets me off my internet butt.

China Glaze Pastel Nails NOTD swatches and review / the aquarium!!

Hello~

Dang it's already april!! I'm so sad: I missed the pokemon google maps thing from yesterday.. oh well..
Anyways, guess what!?
I got the cold. again. sixth time this school year I think. Getting sick is becoming a monthly event... T_T
The weird part is that I usually only get sick once a year, but this year, I'm getting SUPER sick like every single month.. It's not a slight cold, but a full-out influenza type of cold, but it's not really the flu.. it just feels worse than the typical cold I get. I blame the stress.

Well here's a short NOTD that I did using China Glaze polishes! Since spring is here, I'm turning more and more to pastel colors.

I think I did two coats of everything. Please ignore the bubbles: they were from my top coat...

quick messy painting woop woop!

L-R: China Glaze Something Sweet, Aquadelic

Quick Reviews:

Something Sweet: This is a very pretty light pastel pink with a very thick, creamy formula. It's not THAT streaky for a pastel polish, but I still had a few bald spots.. probably cause of my sucky painting.. But it's still a really pretty light baby pink. I love pinks..

Aquadelic: I actually did a post a long time ago with swatches and stuff on this.. It's basically a really pretty and bright turquoise with a very nice, opaque formula. I think it's my favorite turquoise out of the other similar polishes I did a comparison on.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like China Glaze polishes dry quicker than other polishes? o_o idk...

Moving on~
We went to the aquarium! It was my first time going to the aquarium here, and it was better than I expected. :D

I thought these jellyfish were soooooo cooooooooool

With the aquarium comes overpriced food. The fries were like $4 or $5 and the drink was $3-$4.... T_T It was good, but omg I could have bought an entire meal with that money..

The aquarium was fun, even though I'm not very fond of the aquatic life.. I have some sort of fear of the ocean; whenever we drive next to or over a large body of water or the ocean, I have this fear that somehow I'm going to fall in and drown. It's inexplicable, so I don't really tell anyone.

Wah my throat hurts so much.. I came home today, ate dinner, and then slept for 4 hours.. Then I woke up, took a shower, studied for psych, and here I am. :P

My dinner today consisted of: a bowl of hot soup, a bagel with a generous amount of cream cheese, lots of ritz crackers with more cream cheese, and 2 bowls of cereal. o_________o so much food.... but I have to fuel my body so it can heal and I won't be sick hopefully by this Friday!!!

'Til next time~

Tropical Skittle Nails

Hello~

Today I have some skittle-ish nails that remind me of something tropical. :D Very simple; no nail art. Just painting nails... I'm getting a bit lazy these days..

All the colors went on very well~ such pretty colors.... ^o^

Under natural light

Under artificial light

I most likely used two coats of each polish... I'm sorry I don't remember.... T^T

L-R: Modi Glam Nails Fruits Punch, Sinful Colors Pistache, butter LONDON Macbeth

Quick Reviews:

Modi Glam Nails Fruits Punch- Of course, there's some engrish, but anyways, I love this color so much~ It's one of those shades I've been looking for forever!! It's a peachy-cantaloupe pastel shade, and I think it's a crelly. The formula is opaque in two coats, and there's no streaking or anything. Only downside is that it stains the nails a bit..

Sinful Colors Pistache- I think I reviewed this before, but it's a nice neon pistachio creme. The formula is super thick and gloppy, but it's opaque in two coats, so it's manageable. It's a unique color, so it's worth the pain haha..

butter london Macbeth- Of course, the formula is amazing and flawless and opaque in two coats. I would call this a coral creme, with a cooler tone to it. Very pretty summer color and amazing formula~

Yayy I've been accepted into two more colleges this week~ yay! Now I gotta wait for my main ones to come out in April..... T_T

Happy Pi Day!! We had a food day in math today and I ate sooooo much plus I ate a cheeseburger and fries during lunch too.... T_T So good... I'm craving those waffles in Asia where they put ice cream on top and drizzle it with choco syrup... Oh or Mojo crepes.... yum!!! >_<
