Kpop Nails: 2NE1 Minzy Pastel French Tip Nail Art

Hello~

Woohoo I'm back with more Kpop nails! This time I tried Minzy's pastel two-toned french tips. I remember I saw her wear something similar on her nails in an episode of 2NE1 TV, but I'm not sure which episode.. I think it's from Season 2, when they went to London and ate macarons? I'm sorry.. my memory is fuzzy..

Her colors were a bit different, but I tried to manage with my own polishes. You can't really go wrong with pastels. \o/ Also, her nails were much longer and square at the tips, so they have a different feel than my "rendition" yup...

Yes, I know the color is a bit uneven and sheer, but from far away, they look fine....!

More bread! Yummy castella.. I'm really craving mocha bread after seeing Xiumin eat it on Hot Moment XOXO.... I realized that I haven't eaten it in years!

Sorry no bottle shots again.. But it's the same polishes I used in my other post here where I did swatches and reviewed them. So if you're interested, click away! The pastel green is Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, while the pink is butter London Teddy Girl.

On a side note...
AP EXAMS ARE FINALLY OVER FOR ME... FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! My last one was this afternoon, for AP French, and dang, the simulated conversation and cultural comparison were a bit rough, but I hope I pass.. :P

I know I should really start applying for jobs, but for some reason, I'm putting it off.. I hope it's not too late.. >_<

Mint Sorbet and Teddy Girl Swatch and Review

Hello~

Spring means pastels~ and lots of pollen.. I love pastel colors, so today I have a very simple pastel NOTD. 

Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet is my favorite mint polish, and butter London Teddy Girl is slowly becoming my favorite pastel pink polish... Swatches and quick reviews coming up!

I used two coats for each polish. Natural light.

Artificial light.

Yummy.. Who else likes castella?

Sorry I forgot bottle shots, but Mint Sorbet is from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line. Teddy Girl is from, well, butter London. 

Mint Sorbet: This is your very basic mint creme polish. I love the color and the formula. It's smooth, non-streaky, and opaque in two coats. Since this is from Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line, the brushes are nice to work with, at least for me. Plus the brush is very long, which I feel gives much more control when painting. I highly recommend this polish! It's such a pretty mint color~

Teddy Girl: For a creme pastel pink polish, the formula is pretty good. I've had much worse. T_T Teddy Girl is opaque in two coats, and is slightly streaky the first coat but it's fine because the second coat evens everything out. Of course, butter London polishes are always very nice~ The brushes are smaller, like Essie brushes, which I feel are good for their formulas. This may be slightly runny, but for a pastel pink, you can't get much better. :P

If I could, I would wear pastel colors everyday.. I'm still looking for a pastel yellow that doesn't stain my nails!! T^T

Oh by the way, I officially committed to my future university today. It feels sort of weird knowing that I'll be somewhere else for the next four years. I committed too late to find a roommate among my friends, so I just did the random roommate. Hopefully my future roommate is nice and doesn't smoke or bring people over! Because I like peace and quiet when I study... My friend told me to either choose two of the following: a social life, good grades, or sleep. I think I'll choose good grades and sleep.... T_T I mean, pshhh... a social life.....? ToT I'm afraid I won't have time to do any nail art... Maybe just simple solid colors... wahh.... first world problems.

China Glaze Pastel Nails NOTD swatches and review / the aquarium!!

Hello~

Dang it's already april!! I'm so sad: I missed the pokemon google maps thing from yesterday.. oh well..

Anyways, guess what!? 

I got the cold. again. sixth time this school year I think. Getting sick is becoming a monthly event... T_T 

The weird part is that I usually only get sick once a year, but this year, I'm getting SUPER sick like every single month.. It's not a slight cold, but a full-out influenza type of cold, but it's not really the flu.. it just feels worse than the typical cold I get. I blame the stress.

Well here's a short NOTD that I did using China Glaze polishes! Since spring is here, I'm turning more and more to pastel colors. 

I think I did two coats of everything. Please ignore the bubbles: they were from my top coat...

Quick Reviews:

Something Sweet: This is a very pretty light pastel pink with a very thick, creamy formula. It's not THAT streaky for a pastel polish, but I still had a few bald spots.. probably cause of my sucky painting.. But it's still a really pretty light baby pink. I love pinks..

Aquadelic: I actually did a post a long time ago with swatches and stuff on this.. It's basically a really pretty and bright turquoise with a very nice, opaque formula. I think it's my favorite turquoise out of the other similar polishes I did a comparison on.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like China Glaze polishes dry quicker than other polishes? o_o idk...

Moving on~
We went to the aquarium! It was my first time going to the aquarium here, and it was better than I expected. :D

I thought these jellyfish were soooooo cooooooooool

With the aquarium comes overpriced food. The fries were like $4 or $5 and the drink was $3-$4.... T_T It was good, but omg I could have bought an entire meal with that money.. 

The aquarium was fun, even though I'm not very fond of the aquatic life.. I have some sort of fear of the ocean; whenever we drive next to or over a large body of water or the ocean, I have this fear that somehow I'm going to fall in and drown. It's inexplicable, so I don't really tell anyone.

Wah my throat hurts so much.. I came home today, ate dinner, and then slept for 4 hours.. Then I woke up, took a shower, studied for psych, and here I am. :P

My dinner today consisted of: a bowl of hot soup, a bagel with a generous amount of cream cheese, lots of ritz crackers with more cream cheese, and 2 bowls of cereal. o_________o so much food.... but I have to fuel my body so it can heal and I won't be sick hopefully by this Friday!!!

Pastel Blue and Pink Jelly Sandwiches~

Hello~

*Cough cough cough* I got the cold for the fifth time this school year..... o_o I usually only get sick once a year, but this time, man, my immune system isn't very strong... I blame the stress. 

Anyways, I know spring isn't here yet, but I'm getting back to my pastel colors~ I did jelly sandwiches with some glitters and super sheer colors. Speaking of sandwiches.... I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for the first time in almost a year last week. It was so goooooooooooood~

I only did jelly sandwiches on my middle and pink finger here, as you can see.

I think I used 3 coats for the plain nails, and 2 coats of a base color, 2 coats of the glitter polish, and a final coat of base color for the jelly sandwich nails. I know, that sounds like a lot, but the coats were super thin because all the polishes were so sheer!

The polish in the bottle looks super pretty here~ ^o^

Same with this bottle~ So sparkly..

Since I used like 4-5 coats in total, I couldn't paint exactly over the previous layers.. I apologize for the messy painting..

Quick Review:

Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams- A very sheer, sort of streaky pastel blue. You need 4-5 thin coats for FULL opacity, but I get away with 3.. I love the color, so for me, it's sometimes worth all the coats.

OPI Theodora You- This is a very pretty, soft shade of light pink~ I tend to use this a lot compared to my other soft shades. The formula is good- it's on the sheer side, but you only need like 3-4 thin coats for full opacity. The color is so pretty thought so it's always worth it for me. :P

Revlon Whimsical- Blue and pink hexagonal glitters of different sizes in a sheer, light blue base. This is VERY sheer and glitter is super sparse as well, so I had to use two coats and use the dabbing method in order to get some glitter equally over my nail. I know it's a dupe (supposedly) of Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in the Air. Very pretty~ reminds me of cotton candy!

Revlon Starry Pink- Silver hexagonal glitters of different sizes in a sheer milky pink/white base color. I think the glitters in this one were a lot less sparse, which is good. I didn't have to use the dabbing method. :D Of course, the color is very sheer, so I had to use a different pink polish as a base color. Still, it's a very pretty color!

Overall, all the polishes were sheer but super pretty. I'm starting to like jellies more than cremes...... meh, who knows what'll happen?

NOTD: Pastel nails (melons!)

Hello!

Woww I feel so nice and clean right now. I took a shower and used a mint clay mask so now my face feels squeaky clean and all I wanna do is rest. ^^ The first week of school was manageable.. if only every week were like this..

Anyways, here are my NOTD. I know, more pastels, but whatever! I like pastel colors. :D

Simple and bright!

Doesn't it remind you of melons? Honeydew melons and cantaloupes.. 

Skylark had a not so pretty formula.. it was very thick and goopy, and dragged. Is it Payday Yet? was much better formula wise. I think it has one of the best formulas out there for pastels! I love both of the colors! I was just imagining that Skylark would be much more lighter and not as rich in color.

NOTD: Pastel nails

Hello~

Here is a pastel mani that I did a few weeks ago. No nail art; just solid colors. I like the color combo though; it's sort of summery... even though it's pastels, which is generally for spring. I got some compliments though! :D

 I'm trying to use all of my polishes at least once, so that's why I try to do as many color combos as I can.

L-R: Sally Hansen I Pink I Can, China Glaze Peachy Keen, Revlon Buttercup

Surprisingly, all of these polishes had fairly good formulas for pastels. I only had to use two coats, and everything evened out. The Revlon Buttercup has a much more opaque finish than my hello kitty banana cream polish. Man, my love for pastels just never dies.. I'm actually wearing a different pastel mani right now. >.< I'll post it soon!

Pastel Strawberries~

Hello all!

Oh my it's been so long since I last posted.. I've been busy ever since online classes started. The classes have crazy long assignments! Sigh and once online classes are over I gotta finish my summer homework in 3 weeks.. T_T I haven't even started.. 

Anyways~ I've been painting my nails more often. Here was my NOTD a few weeks ago...

I actually had no idea how I was gonna paint my nails, so I just took out a bunch of colors. 

Pastel Strawberries! From thumb to pink for the base colors: Hello Kitty Banana Cream, Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, Revlon Gumdrop, Ulta Encore Pink, Sinful Colors Orange Cream. For the leaves, I used Sinful Colors Pistache, and used a F21 glitter. The glitter wasn't as dense as I though. D:

This is the same F21 Glitter, except with a generous 2 coats. I still wish it was more dense! haha The top nail is Essie Coat Azure, and the bottom nail is butter London Blagger.

You can probably tell by now that sometimes I can't stand wearing the same color on all 10 fingers. Some of my friends think it's weird how I paint them all different, but hey, I like colorful variety. :D I feel like painting all your fingers the same color gives sort of an elegant, polished effect though.

Pastel Cupcake Nails

Hellooooooo  (★^O^★)

It's spring break for us right now, and I FINALLY painted my nails again. Pastel cupcakes!

Not as clean as last time.. T_T;; It didn't turn out as expected, but it's still cute nonetheless. I really wanted to  do at least one more fun, spring pastel NOTD before summer arrives. Speaking about spring, sdlkfasjdfkl it doesn't feel like spring at all right now. It's cold, gloomy, cloudy, rainy, COLDDDD, and lonely. Where are the sing-song birds and the cute little rabbits? LOL 

I did pastel cupcake (ice cream?) nails! I feel like this color combo gives off a different mood than my last pastel combo. 

Too lazy to clean it up haha!

 I keep on realizing I have way too much nail polish every time I paint my nails. T-T

I ended up using so many coats that the nail polish never really dried! I painted them hours ago and I can still scrape it off with my nails. >_< At least they cheer me up! 

Sweet Tooth is really pretty; has the slightest shimmer and is sort of jelly-like.

A Crewed Interest is so pretty color-wise, but the formula is a no-no. Streaky, pooling, sheer, blah.

Banana Cream is pretty good for a pastel yellow. I still need to use 4 thin coats though..

Mint Sorbet is really prettyyyyy! Good formula, good pigment.

Havana Dreams is also pretty color-wise, but really sheer. It could be good for jelly sandwiches though!

There are dents everywhere!

By the way, those red dots are supposed to be cherries lol.

Sorry for the awkward hand positions. I'm still trying to look for a pretty way to take pictures. I'm not sure how long this will last.. I kinda already have another design that I'm looking forward to doing.

Pastel Polka Dot Nails!

I finally had time to do my nails this weekend.. I discovered that I need to brush up on my nail polishing skills lol. Anyways, I loooove pastels. I always wished that I had that perfect, pale, porcelain skin so I could really pull off pastel pinks and yellows. But I guess we gotta make do with what we've been born with. :P

This is my first time polka-dotting too. I never realized how hard it is... T-T Hopefully with practice, I can get better. :D I already wrote down notes on what to do the next time I do this design. 

I tried to use a lot of the colors from my Sinful Colors haul. Next time, I'll use a much lighter, pastel-y pink and purple, even if they're more streaky. All of the formulas were good, except Sugar Rush got really gloopy and thick, and Banana Cream is streaky, but not as bad as some other pastel yellows I've tried. I should have gotten Butter London's Jasper from their Spring collection this year.. T_T
